Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to your frequently asked questions

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people begin therapy because they feel stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or ready for something to change. Others come to strengthen their relationships, heal after betrayal or divorce, improve communication, or better understand themselves.

Therapy provides a safe, supportive space to explore what's happening beneath the surface and develop practical tools for lasting change. If you've been wondering whether therapy could help, that curiosity alone is often a good reason to schedule an initial consultation.

What issues do you help people with?

I work with individuals, couples, teens, and families throughout Washington State.

Common concerns include:

Relationship conflict

Marriage counseling

Divorce and separation

Anxiety

ADHD and executive functioning

Parenting challenges

Neurodivergent family support

Communication problems

Betrayal recovery

Stress and burnout

Life transitions

Self-esteem

Emotional regulation

Whether you're seeking support individually or as a couple, we'll work together to create a plan that fits your unique goals.

Do you offer online therapy throughout Washington State?

Yes. I provide secure telehealth therapy for clients located anywhere in Washington State.

Online therapy allows you to receive support from the comfort of your own home while maintaining the same level of privacy, professionalism, and effectiveness as in-person sessions. Many clients appreciate the flexibility of virtual therapy because it eliminates travel time and makes it easier to fit appointments into busy schedules.

How much does therapy cost?

Current private-pay fees are:

• Individual Therapy (55 minutes): $185

• Couples Therapy (55 minutes): $210

Payment is due at the time of service. I also provide superbills for clients who wish to seek reimbursement through their out-of-network insurance benefits.

Do you accept insurance?

I currently operate as a private-pay practice.

Many clients choose private-pay therapy because it offers greater privacy, flexibility, and freedom from insurance limitations. If you have out-of-network benefits, I'm happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

How long does therapy usually take?

The length of therapy depends on your goals and the concerns you're addressing.

Some clients come for short-term support over several months, while others choose longer-term therapy for ongoing growth and personal development.

During our first few sessions, we'll discuss your goals and develop a treatment plan together so you have a clear sense of direction.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another.

We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy, your goals, your relationships, and any important life experiences that help provide context. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions and determine whether I'm the right therapist for you.

There's no pressure to share everything immediately—we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable.

Do you work with couples even if one partner is unsure?

Yes. It's very common for one partner to feel hesitant about therapy.

If both partners are willing to attend an initial consultation, we can explore each person's concerns and determine whether couples therapy is the right fit. If one partner chooses not to participate, individual therapy can still be an effective way to gain clarity, improve communication, and make thoughtful decisions about the relationship.

Can you help us decide whether to stay together or separate?

Yes. One of my specialties is helping individuals and couples thoughtfully navigate relationship uncertainty.

If you're feeling torn between working on the relationship and ending it, therapy provides a structured space to slow down, explore patterns, improve communication, and make a decision based on clarity rather than fear or frustration.

The goal isn't to convince you to stay or leave—it's to help you make the decision that's most aligned with your values and long-term wellbeing.

Do you work with ADHD and Neurodivergent Families?

Yes.

I have extensive professional and personal experience supporting children, teens, parents, and couples navigating ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence.

In addition to over 16 years as a licensed therapist, I previously worked as a school counselor and parent educator, helping families collaborate with schools, understand IEPs and 504 Plans, strengthen executive functioning, improve emotional regulation, and create more connected family relationships.

Still have questions?
