Hi, I’m Sara Nied, and my story always went something like this: Success, accolades, and recognition on the outside — and a quiet whisper that I was meant for more on the inside.

I built a thriving career as a therapist and neuropsychology educator. I hit my goals, earned respect, had a beautiful family, and checked every box of what a “fulfilled” woman should have.

But behind closed doors, I was slowly disappearing. I was in a marriage that checked all the boxes, but I was losing myself in the trap of performance, pleasing, and silencing my needs.

Therapists told me to “set better boundaries,” “speak up more,” or “lower my expectations.”

I listened. I tried harder. I invested over a decade and $85,000+ on coaches, specialized therapists, certifications, and self-help everything.

I had a thriving clinic helping women save their marriages or find new love, while mine was slowly crumbling.

It wasn’t until I found myself deeply ill — lying in a hospital bed while doctors scratched their heads — that the truth hit me.

All the therapy work I had done only addressed a fraction of the problem.

It addressed my thought processes, mindset, and understanding my past.

But the real issue was in my wiring — my overactive nervous system and unconscious belief system that kept me seeking validation, performing, proving, and pleasing just to feel safe.

For years, I worked as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree, helping people navigate anxiety, trauma, and life’s challenges. On the outside, I looked like I had it all together — a meaningful career, a strong drive, and a relationship I thought was stable.

But everything changed after a serious accident. During my recovery, I realized the man I had trusted to care for me wasn’t truly there. The distance, the lack of empathy, the emotional void — it broke something open in me. I ended the marriage, but I carried with me a haunting question: Why had I stayed so long in a love that didn’t feel like love?

That was the beginning of my deeper search. I started noticing patterns — not just in myself, but in so many of the women I worked with. We were drawn to the familiar, even when it hurt. We confused chaos with chemistry. And our nervous systems, wired by old experiences, kept pulling us back into the same cycles.

This realization led me to study the connection between neuroscience and the heart — how our brains and bodies learn love, and how those patterns can be rewired. What I discovered not only transformed my own life, but became the foundation of the Mindful Love Method™ and my work as a love and relationship coach.
